i can fly! at least, i think i can

I get so annoyed over the constant hate of a) fans in general and b) Supernatural fans specifically. Especially since it's insulting the vast majority of people who watch a show (with a few exceptions like NCIS where maybe 1-5% of the watchers are in the actual fandom). I don't like it when actors do it, I don't like it when networks/execs do it, and I REALLY don't like it when other run-of-the-mill TV watchers or worse! other fans do it.

Yes, there are a few people out there that probably need a reality check. No actor should be attacked physically or verbally, and no fan should think stalking or obsessive love letters are ok.

But fanfic? Making YouTube vids? WHO THE FUCK CARES? I don't think that makes a person "crazy". And I'm a little sick of getting labeled as thus. More importantly, I am sick of reading in certain comms, "oh this comm is great, it's not full of those crazies from fandom" EXCUSE ME. *I* am in that comm and you know what? You'd probably consider me crazy.

Things You Should Know (about fandom):

1. Fandom is mean to be FUN.
2. I don't insult or judge your kinks, why should you judge mine?
3. Don't try to act all moral. If you're going to insult Wincest for immorality, then maybe you should look at yourself. Have you had sex outside of marriage? GASP. That's immoral! Let he among us without sin cast the first stone. Until then, GTFO.
4. If you're not interested in it, DON'T READ IT.
5. It's all FICTION. I suspect less than 1% of those who write incest would actually condone it in real life. Or do it themselves. That number may even be less than .05%. Writing doesn't mean you approve. Otherwise, the very fact that you watch a show about a serial killer (take Heroes or Dexter or any procedural for example) clearly indicates that you condone serial killers. Let's be logical, folks.
6. If you're going to insult one fandom's use of incest, why not insult them all? Why must you focus on this one? It's because it's known. The show itself mocks it. Thus, you are not showing intelligence. You are evidence of bandwagon reactions to something unknown.
7. There is a fine line between acknowledging weird or unusual and perhaps not appropriate behavior and being mean/rude. I admit, I recoil a bit when I see people with "Jensen Ackles" tattooed across their back. It's not me and it seems a bit extreme. But I am not judging the person. Do I think the action is probably not appropriate? Yeah. But it is by no means against the law and I suspect those people are in their right minds. Who hasn't done something entirely illogical or emotional? They feel a connection with that person. It's not harming you and it's not harming me. There is no need to insist on calling them crazy and then leaping to the conclusion all fans are. The same can be said for being a participant in fandom or for, more specifically, fandom kinks. I don't get mpreg at all. It's weird and not my cup of tea. SO I DON'T READ IT (referring back to #4). But if someone on my flist writes/reads it? That's ok with me. I don't call them crazy. It's entirely implausible. But I still would never call them crazy for enjoying it.

I could go on with this all day, I think. I've just had it up to HERE with Supernatural fans, people who claim to be Supernatural fans, the meta on the show, and all the others who sit back and judge the show and its fans. When I first joined fandom 5 years ago, it was fun. These days, I find it less so. The bitter in-fighting and the brutal attacks of fans (and writers/execs) makes it a hostile place to be most days. Now, I don't let someone declaring I am crazy stop me. Or even bother me most of the time (in that I don't feel ashamed or guilty). But man, is all this bullshit getting on my nerves.

So, I just want to make this clear. And please, if this bothers you, by all means defriend me. I don't want you either then if you can't accept me as a whole being and can't realize I'm not insisting you read/write it.

Ok, so was able to watch Monday night's eps last night and I have a few comments. Not like most of you are DA fans, but who cares? LOL I just like to hear myself talk, you know. Anyway. I want to know what the hell is up with these newly introduced things. I mean, they're not transgenics. They're not aliens (or maybe, I guess), and they've been being made for millenia? WTF. DA suddenly went XF. I mean, it's like the ten different types of alien all somehow related, but not, you know? Like there's the alien from Fallen Angel, and then the black oil, and then the greys, human-hybrids (from both sides) and Jeremiah Smith, and the bounty hunters and then they add Supersoldiers to it all. That's suddenly what I feel like with DA. And Aimes. Whats up with him? He can complain about transgenics as freaks, when he's like...super judo man? WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY??? Guess I'll have to wait. *angsts*

Then I caught the episode, The Berrisford Agenda. This ep is important because it's the back story of Alec (played by Jensen Ackles). Now, up until this point I have been kind of hating on Alec because, seriously? That transgenic's a total dickwad, hott though he is. But siberian_skys assured me after seeing Berrisford I'd know and understand and like him. And I hate to disappoint her, but it didn't. As I told her, ok, sure, I understand why he comes off as a jerk and kinda of cocky, he does it to hide his pain. But come on...isn't that the excuse for every character like that? I mean, Alec is very like Dean. Both have built up walls of snark and player in order to hide past grievances. YAWN. I'm getting a little sick of that kind of character analysis. And IMO, Alec should have left Manticore at that point. Or, if not then, have helped Max when Manticore went down instead of being reluctant and not caring, only out for himself and bitching at her for making him go outside Manticore's walls. WTF. Get over yourself. So yes, I understand a little more, but I am still not impressed.

On the other hand...this episode spawned the hottest/prettiest picture of not only Jensen, but of anyone I have. Ever. Seen. And that's saying a lot cause we all know how much I worship Nick Lea. But ( Look )

Paley Festival:

Ok, first off, I have to give out a huge THANK YOU to keepaofthecheez who uploaded this for all of us who wanted it/didn't have the special disc/etc. siberian_skys, I've changed my mind. Not worth $20, no, but definately worth $5. But, of course, I got it for free. :-D

Anyway. The whole thing was hilarious. What it was (for you none obsessive J2 fans) was a panel featuring Kim Manners (X-Files), John Shiban (X-Files), Jensen, Jared, Robert Singer (Lois and Clark), and Eric Kripke (creator of SPN). It was informative and highly entertaining. I loved the guy moderating because he had no clue how to handle a bunch of fangirls. He kept having to pause through the introductions because he couldn't speak over the clapping and whistling. It was sad. But funny.

Some highlights were:
A) Jensen being confused as to what NC-17 meant (SEX! the audience yelled)
B) Jared choking as in response to above comment, Kripke said The CW is all about full frontal male nudity
C) All of the above guests feeling the need to pour their Aquafina from the bottles into wine goblets (I mean, WTF? Actors. *sighs*)
D) John Shiban talking about not being able to fake chemistry and Jared leaning over making a kissy face at Jensen who starts to lean in and then shakes his head and point at the camera
E) The moderator coming out (right after they've aired "Scarecrow") and saying, Anyone a fan of X-Files? *cheers* He continues, I always want to shake Dean and say, Why are you trusting the Cigarette-Smoking Man?
F) Kim Manners saying in response to a question about what actually scares you, Nothing. I work in TV. (AHA!!!)
G) Kirpke's favorite scene of the year (up to that point) being the man who gets his hand stuck in the garbage disposal and the toy monkey dances, when all the others made these dramatic statements about emotional scenes
H) Someone asking a question about if we would get flashback scenes (including asking how much "Miller time" Dad spent) and Kripke saying, yes. Then Jared going, "Another positive is that if little!Sam and little!Dean are filming, big!Sam and big!Dean are sleeping."

J2/SPN gag reel:

So someone uploaded this on Youtube and OMG I laughed my ass off. Best part is totally J2 wishing "us" a happy holidays...in Canadian. Or, their version of it. Hilarious!! My other favorite part...Sam making Zoolander faces. not even kidding you. motorwill totally understands this, I'm sure. But aha!! He does it like three times throughout it all. IF ANYONE CAN MAKE ANIMATED ICONS, I WILL FUCKING WORSHIP YOU IF YOU MAKE ME ONE OF SAM DOING ZOOLANDER!! *and offer sex, or fic or whatever it takes*

I sadly just realized I missed Justice tonight. *is disappointed*
