Getting Caught Up

I am back. FINALLY.

Don't ask me how break went. Christmas was fine and all, but it really kind of sucked because good ole Lady Luck was not on my side, nor was Serendipity. But I got nice things. :-)

BUT!! I have felt absolutely AWFUL because I have not been able to thank you wonderful, wonderful people for all your brithday, Christmas, and New Year's wishes!! I have been thriving on the LJ comments I've gotten in my email and I love you all. I have a few special people to thank.

shotofjack, crimsonsenya, staranis. Thank all three of you for the wonderful LJ gifts!! Seeing the emails was an amazing thing. They made me smile with great joy when I recieved them. I wasn't expecting them and it was incredibly sweet of all of you! And they make my profile so pretty and festive! HUGS

Thank you to fluffy_o (and Mulder, Krycek, Sam, and Dean) for the wonderful ecard!! It was adorable!

Thirdly, _3amconfession wrote me a fic. You keep on telling me these pretty little lies Very light wincest, but oh, so cute. Thank you so much, my love!!

And finally to siberian_skys who has kindly listened to my holiday woes.

Now in advance, I shall thank everyone else who may have written a birthday thing for me. I will be slowly wading through the past 9 or so days of LJ (oy!) and when I get to a post I will make a new one myself to personally thank you.

This will however, take even longer than I forsaw. Not only because I am returning many days later than planned, but also because my computer died. It stinks. And so I will take it into Best Buy tomorrow, but knowing them, it will most likely be a month before I get it back which means I shall be living in school labs and I hate doing that. But I will try to do it as much as I can. God knows I've missed all my flist and the worlds of Heroes and Supernatural. And I have the Krycek Christmas Zine to read!

I will try to change the layout to normal tomorrow sometime. Thank you all once again!!

LOL Well, actually, a lot. It just didn't pull me in cause it was...so not XF-ey. The emotions were good, but the actions weren't what I see them ever doing, and the writing was a little too...not modern. But straight forward, perhaps? It just didn't have the same kind of vibe I like. Meh.

I think you might have been put off by Scully in this story. But I really enjoyed her being in a relationship with Mulder that is...different from all the usual shippy stuff. But anyway, you know I like "different" of all kinds. :) After having watched about two dozens shippy vids before voting in FE's contest, I CRAVE for smthg unusual.

Not modern writing? I don't get this one, but anyway...when you like smthg, you might overlook what others don't.

Btw, just using the chance to ask, I always forget: how to edit friends' settings so that I have a comm as a friend, but it does not show on my friends-page?

Ah, I see. I am a person who likes the sappy MSR. Not sickeningly sappy, but the nice romantic stuff.

When you friend the comm, it'll take you to a page that says would you like to add this comm to your friends page? (or something like that) Just ignore that page and do whatever. Then you'll be friended but it won't be on the page. Hope that helps!

I KNOW that procedure you described. What to do when you have friended/joined a comm a LONG time ago and still want to be a member, but your f-list is overflooded with the posts in that comm and you don't want to see them any more?

On occasion, I do. But mainly, I like the gritty, angsty, mytharc( for XF), apocalyptic stuff. A little happiness is good (I do like it when they hook up--most of the time). Very emotional, slow build-up...sometime I'll get around to making my own rec post and then you'll see the ones I typically like. Oh, and detail. NOthing better than detail.

Go into edit friends and just unclick the boxes in the top section. This takes them off the list. Don't check the bottom section because that deletes them from your flist entirely.

Heh. I like the same variety of slash. If detailed, then - lots of details. If curt and brisk - then it's good too. Actually that's what I like in MSR too - angst, conflicts, sex, then remorse, then conflicts. More sex and break up. Scully finding her Man in Dogget. Heh. I'm a shipper's nightmare. *ggg*
