Though technically, it's NBC and not so much Tim Kring (who wanted/planned on Zach being gay). But still.

Heroes Straightens Up Its Gay Character

I am incredibly depressed with NBC right now. After seeing Wedding Wars only to read this? What a fucking let down.

Although I do have one gripe. Why are they using Zach's MySpace as evidence? Aren't these sites typically created by the wannabe-RPGers out there? Or is his actually show sanctioned, or created by the actor?

Now here's my slightly (or very) idiotic question. What is the function of fandom wank? Is it meant to laugh at people who bitch about something in a fandom? Or what? I am so confused...

It's basically there to mock fandom drama. Especially when the drama is totally ridiculous (like that crazy Harry Potter fan who says Snape talks to her in her dreams, helps her write fanfic and is her cosmic lover, hee) or someone mentions Hitler during the argument. *g*

Fandom drama can be real funny. I guess when you're in the middle of a fandom, it can sometimes be hard to step away and get perspective... but as an outsider reading that stuff, it's hilarious.

Right. And considering I'm actually very blaise (is that how you spell it?) about fandom, even I can laugh in the middle of it. Like when people spaz about actors. My spazzing is very minimal to most people.

Well, shit, that sucks!! I really liked him as a gay character -- I liked how Claire stood up for him by bitch-slapping Jackie when she made fun of him. This totally destroys the character, although now that he was mind-wiped I doubt there was going to be much for him to do anyway.

I know. I was quite proud of Claire. And while, I didn't care if he was or wasn't, to me it seemed as if he was. And knowing Kring wanted him to be and then the network revoke it? It's ridiculous.

Yeah, he got some other role on an ABC show, I think.

What idiots! Seriously, what are they afraid of? *shakes head* I am not able to watch the show, (though I want to) so I don't know anything about the character, but I'll just pretend that one of the ex-gay ministries got hold of him and convinced him that "Yes, you too can be straight!" *grins* (it never sticks, she whispers). I blame them for all kinds of things.

And sadly, there actually are people who would stop watching a show if a character was perceived as gay or effeminate.
