Argh, I am so frustrated!!! And hungry. Completely unrelated.

So, a long time ago, one of the first X-Files fanfics I ever started read, was Mesabi Ferrum. At that point it was about ten chapters long. By the time I started reading SPN and sort of lost XF, it was at about twenty or so. But just about a month ago, I decided to go back and see if it was done. It was!! And so for the past two nights, I was able to go back from the beginning and read it all through.

This fic is amazing. I recommend it to any fan of XF and its mytharc. Now, if you hate the alien aspect (umm, why did you watch then?), then I wouldn't recommend it. But, everyone else, slasher, noromo, it's one of the best. While it is MSR and DRR, its in a sense a small part of the fic. There's no dramatic sex scenes for you to squick over.

Why is it I like this fic so much? Because it is everything I want XF2 to be. Since XF2 won't happen (*cries*), this is my XF2. Zoonr, the author, manages to sort out Chris Carter's convoluted aliens and make it all mesh together. SOme of the best characters are back. It's a X-Files reunion, and the most special family reunion.

The date has been set. It's here. Who will survive the "plague to end all plagues"? And can anyone save what's left of humanity?

Ah, I've had this one recced to me a few times but never quite got round to reading it. Mostly because of the length, but I guess part of me doesn't want to simply because of what you said. These truly wonderful fics just make me realise what I am missing with no XF2. It's getting to the point where watching eps is constantly tinged with a bittersweet sadness for me; I want more. I spent most of Paper Hearts the other day begging them in my head to come back, it's just so achingly good. Why? Why why why haven't they done this yet?! I don't get it.

I have a manic week at uni coming up, but after that I have a slight breathing space - I'll have a read of it then I think. If I can't have XF2, might as well have the next best thing.

I so agree to what she has said. And y'know, please, we don't need XF2. Just think of it. It would be about anything but what we loved in the "classical" XF. The actors too, are not getting younger and plus, they've killed off all the guys we loved to hate. ;) Or hated to love. (y'know what I mean here ;)

Is there a lot of Krycek in that story?

What really annoys me but I can't help it: since I can't print out long stories at home, I usually skip over them because I don't like to read them on PC. This is NOT when I'm really "getting" into a story. I need it on paper.

Ahh. I respect your POV on XF2, but I guess you just...can't ressurect it. And if there is no Krycek, I won't even think about it. Not because I'm Krycek-fixed (I'm not), but because if EVER there was XF2, it will NOT be MOTW, because there are LOTS of rather...fixed people who need it to continue the "romantic" line and it's them who'd make the boxoffice. So we'd probably get MSR still together in a STRONG HEALTHY EVER-DEVOTED relationship in 2012, UberWilliam...and y'know I'm not much interested in it. Alas. :(

I HAVE read lots of longs fics before maternity leaves. Certainly almsot all M/K fics that were out there. Well, I COULD read a longer fic on PC, I just have to divide my time very carefully now, and I choose to make a pic or watch a movie/TV ep when I have a free moment.

Ahhhhhhh, I LOVED the show for the show till season 7. You can't imagine how WIRED I was when I first watched FTF and that near-kiss. I was so full with erotic delight. ;) But things change...I love the MSR and M/K that are in my head, not what was done later. That's individual perception, I guess.

As long as you keep supporting slash, I will be making art. :)

That's not the worst perspective out there! ;)
