Do the Dennis Hopper Ameriprise (retirement financial planning) commercials make anyone else laugh? Like, I like them, but they're still funny.

And I'm not cutting for the "spoilers" because from what I've heard, they're not.
1.) What is the one moment in the series so far where you've felt like stopping the actions of a character?
Well, Dean baring his soul...and when he reached up and into that vent. EW, Dean.
2.) If Sam or Dean were President/Prime Minister how do you think they'd run the country?
I don't think either would care to. Definately not Dean. He'd probably make lots of stupid laws and have affairs in office and he'd be impeached like that. Sam, might actually care, but I can't see him wanting to do something so braod and administrational in nature.
3.) Will what John told Dean about Sam and the children like him make Sam feel better or worse, once Dean passes it on?
Uhhh, considering Dean's face...I can't imagine it's not shocking. And considering he HASN'T TOLD SAM, it can't be good.
4.) Kripke has assured us that the Dean/Jo relationship is inevitable. How would YOU like to see it handled?
In one TV Guide interview he said he was reading the boards and will not do something that isn't working. While I don't care one way or another, I think he's gotten the point that fans don't like her and I believe he's going to listen.
5.) Kripke talks about Jo/Dean, but what would you like to see in regards to Sam's love life? Should Sarah come back? A new character altogether? Stay single for the fangirls?
I would like Sarah to come back. But honestly, I like the no girls (and not for the usual reasons) and given the nature of the show (two brothers traveling and killing evil things) it doesn't allow much for settling down or a girl to tag along. So maybe, when the series ends...we could see him and Sarah settling down or him seeing/meeting a girl we could interpret as him going with. But not till then.

Date: 2006-11-17 09:34 pm (UTC)I also am amused (and slightly appalled) by seeing Dennis Hopper on a TV commercial. Who's next? Nicholson?

Date: 2006-11-17 09:45 pm (UTC)Oh, God, I hope not Nicholson. I mean, Garner does that one med program or something, and actors were doing the Visa ones...huh. I guess, at least I like Hopper.

Date: 2006-11-17 09:56 pm (UTC)Jo doesn't bother me as a character, but my problem with the "attraction" angle is that she seems so young. I don't know what her age is supposed to be, but to me she comes off as, like, 16 or 17. For someone as
manly and growly and hotdamaged and wise-beyond-his-years as Dean, a teenaged "girlfriend" just seems really inappropriate. Not to mention icky. Yeah, she's tough and can go on a hunt and all that, but she still seems rather childlike. Or maybe that's just me?As for Sammy staying single, yeah, he's clearly not into the casual thing like his brother, so I can't see him hooking up with anyone unless they stay put for a lengthy period of time. *feels somewhat protective of Sam, hee*

Date: 2006-11-18 12:09 am (UTC)No, not just you. Most people in fact. Except me. LOL I am the odd one out on this. To me she seems no younger than Sarah. Now, one could say that that's the point since Dean is now 27(?). But 27 and 23 or even 22...what's the big deal on that? I mean, the more you get out of college settings the more you see that kind of age difference. And what's 4-5 years? Trust me, I know people 15 and 20+ years apart. 5 would never bother me.
Mainly, I almost don't want the Dean/Jo connection for her sake. I mean, I imagine Dean to be rather monagamous if he ever found "the one". But at this stage in his life? I don't think he's nearly ready for that, not with the hunt, Dad, Sam, The Demon...and I don't want to see either one hurt because Dean can't stay committed at the time being. Now, I'm probably fangirling this too much and Kripke would either make Dean steady to her or something else, but the way I see how the characters are, that's what I feel.
ANd yes, I feel protective of Sam a bit too. ZRelationship-wise, anyway.

Date: 2006-11-18 03:38 am (UTC)Has Jo ever left home & her mommy? Seems not. She talks tough, and undoubtedly she's suffered & been through a lot because of her dad's death. But she still seems pretty dependent and unworldly so far... so I question how much she would be able to truly understand a complex guy like Dean and the deep issues he's struggling with, as well as his level of devotion to the cause (and his family).
I dunno. She just screams "little sister" to me rather than "girlfriend". *shrugs* It doesn't feel right, especially when Dean can clearly have his pick of women in almost every episode. *g*

Date: 2006-11-18 03:45 am (UTC)She mentioned she went to school...but clearly she dropped out. Now that does not endear me to her. I am more of a Sam than a Dean on that subject. lol
For me, she doesn't scream anything yet. Like, that's bad, probably. I am kind of blah on her. I don't care where Kripke takes her really. Though I did like her hunting and she was rather brave once she woke up in the box.
I like Dean and demon chick. *nods*

Date: 2006-11-18 05:43 am (UTC)Anyway, to me it made sense for those two to be together because they always were. Same is true for Wicnhester brothers, and even more people would think so if they weren't related. they'd sorta be like a straight (as in comedy), demonhunting version of Starsky and Hutch.

Date: 2006-11-18 07:06 am (UTC)Yes - I agree. If it is something even kind of middle of the road, it won't explain the secrecy. It has to be something bad or at least bad-ish. Poor Sammich - he is going to be crushed I think.
