Thank you, Agent Carter, for that excellent finale which only further enabled my Howard/Peggy, Howard/Steve, Howard/Peggy/Steve, and even, ultimately, my Steve/Tony shipper's heart.

I mean, seriously. She used "loved" in the exact same reference regarding Howard as she did with herself.

It also made we wonder how that Howard became Tony's horrible father.

I think we have to accept that MCU Howard isn't at all 616 (comics) Howard. I think MCU Howard was absent from Tony's life, which I do find plausible based on this season. MCU Howard clearly cared about Steve and feels all that guilt. He also has the added guilt of his inventions being stolen. So I find it highly probable that kids wasn't Howard's #1 goal (aside from a legacy) and he, like Tony, gets caught up in his work which makes him forget everything around him (like Tony taking Pepper for granted). So, MCU Howard isn't horrible, just not #1 dad because of his absenteeism and inability to express emotions (something else we see from Howard in Agent Carter - how he covers up feelings with jokes and women - sound like anyone else? ;) ). I absolutely see this Howard reflecting the Howard we see in IM2 who designed an entire model city to provide Tony with something he couldn't provide in person.

Completely different from drunk, abusive Howard in 616 and Ultimates 'verse.

I feel like kicking myself for liking Howard. He may not have hit Tony, but I'm not convinced he did more than be an absent father, which is abuse in and of itself. That guilt could have easily led him right into the bottle. And Tony had to be feel pretty low all the time from being compared to Steve when Howard was around. I'd like to think that Tony would be a good dad. I'm sure he'd forget things, but even though Tony still calls himself a skirt chaser he hasn't really done that since he got back from that cave in Afghanistan. Now you done it, I want to write Daddy Tony fic as if I don't have enough irons in the fire. :-)

I've already written Clint and Phil a child, though it might be really interesting to write Tony with a developmentally disabled child. I can just imagine nearly everyone around him thinking he's going to pull a Howard and they'd end up really surprised.

I missed it last time when Howard said he understood how Peggy felt about Steve because that's how he felt about Steve (until I saw it on Tumblr), but I sure didn't miss it this time when Peggy said she knew Howard loved Steve because she loved Steve too. *throws pink, purple and blue confetti everywhere*

All the bisexual subtext!! It was glorious. (Though, explicit statements would be great. Still, this is a lot more than most shows, and it doesn't feel like queer baiting the way other shows do.)
