Looking for Good Omens Recs and Ramblings About SGA

Hello flisties!

So, as I mentioned, I'm feeling a bit of ennui regarding Supernatural right now. However, thanks to crack_van, I've discovered Good Omens as a fandom. I've been reading some great fanfics, but I'd love more. Crowley and Aziraphael hit all my buttons. Good and "evil," boy!sex, ambigous, powerful creatures, plus...ngl, the curtain!fic is absolutely doing it for me. I LOVE my angst and more so than anything else, I love apocalyptic, tragic DOOM fics. But it's nice to get to read something light-hearted and fun. Are any of you in Good Omens fandom? What are the good LJ comms? Rec me some fics, if you wouldn't mind!

Also, I'm rewatching all of SGA. And I kind of forgot a) how much I love McKay and Sheppard, and b) that I have a thing for half-humans, apparently. Why do I like inter-species sex? I don't understand. But, I do. Wings, angels, and bug!Sheppard. UNF, bug!Shep is so hot. So, if you wouldn't mind, I'd love some recs about Sheppard as in Conversion. I'm sure I've read most of them, but it's been forever, and I've got a hankering for some blue-skinned, yellow-eyed, uber powerful Sheppard and McKay sex. (I'm always slightly amused because that was the first SGA ep I watched - before even knowing what the show was - and my initial reaction was WTF is this? and since getting into the show, it's always been one of my favorite episodes.)

Here's another little tidbit I picked up. I've never been a Sheppard/Ronon slasher, but rewatching these first few season 2 eps where Ronon reacts to Sheppard's military command and emphasizes the order parts? I'm totally seeing Sheppard as Ronon's dom. Like when he says to Ronon, "I couldn't order so much as a pizza right now, but if you need it to be an order, fine. That's an order." and then Ronon does whatever he was just bitching about a moment before. I realize this is military and not sexual but, my slash goggles are firmly in place, tyvm.

Ooh, ooh, I can help with this one! lower_tadfield is the main Good Omens comm, but also be sure to check out crowleyraphale for Aziraphale/Crowley fic. And go_exchange is a holiday fic/art exchange that has some really amazing fanworks (and if you'd potentially be interested in participating, I can tell you I did it last year and it's a lot of fun).

I haven't been active in Good Omens fandom in years, but back in the day I found some rec posts and they have amazing fics in them: one, two and three. That should keep you busy for a while :D

I wish there was more John/Rodney/Teyla/Ronon around. OT4 PEOPLE.

Oh, yay! Thanks for the rec pages. I'm so excited to delve right in.

See, I've read a few J/R/T/R fics but I can't get behind them on an OT4 level. Which is weird considering I've read fics with all combinations of them paired together and it's not solely that McShep is my OP (since I also enjoy McLorne, Shep/Mitchell, McWeir, etc). But in general...McShep wins out. In almost every fic, I want McKay and Sheppard to be together (sort of how I read Sam/Cas/Dean but prefer if the Dean/Cas is stronger than the OT3). Except my favorite OT3 fic with Shep, McKay and Weir. God, that fic is AWESOME.

I feel so behind the times. Good Omens has been sitting in my to read pile for ages. I really must get to that one of these days. I'm so late to the party, as usual.

I'm a bit addle brained as of late. Did I dream it or did you post a fic in recent days that I've failed to read and comment on?

Haha. Well, I'm strangely just not attracted to Jason. I like my little corner of McShep. But for some reason, the slash goggles were just on yesterday.

I was late, too! I only read it this past fall when people were squealing over the introduction of Crowley.

Have you read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo yet? I feel like I'm way behind in the book reading world. I picked-up a copy on the way home. I have this huge reading pile at home, but I keep hearing great things about it and feel left out. Last fall is when I picked up Good Omens. I started it, but I kept laying it down for something else. I am a Gemini and therefore I have a short attention span.

The boyfriend mentioned Good Omens to me yesterday.. or the day before? Anyway. Yeah. Heard it's amazing. :)Good knowing there's a fandom base out there also. XD

Sheppard/Ronon is kinda awesome. If I was more into slash. Think I wrote a fic for them a year or so ago for a request, so have had a slight interest in them since, when I do get into that slashy mood. ;)

Good Omens is a fantastic little book. I'm not as obsessed as many who have read it (I've read better, IMO) but it is witty and snarky and I love Crowley and Aziraphael to bits.
