So now that we've finally met John Sheppard's ex, I love this story more than ever. Lenore's Dee is just...amazing. This whole fic is. And it gives me a frame of reference. Because God, I love this whole idea, the characters, the relationship, the disaster. It's beautiful and so, so painful(ly) good.

This is a lovely little piece about language and meaning. I like how it actually addresses some gate translation plot holes, too.

A hilarious day and a half in the life of Atlantis which all starts with the Atlantis still being blown up, finding Ancient porn, and eventually ending with Weir singing and Bate's red polka-dotted boxers showing, forever damaging Rodney's retinas.

The New Frontier by harriet_spy

This fic has an amazing outsider POV. Sometimes, it's easier to have an outside POV because you don't need to pay as close of attention to the characterization of a more difficult character, but the author doesn't shy away from that at all. The world this story takes place on it rich and detailed and the characters all fully conceived.

It's a fic that takes place after the war and John is wandering about by himself. John stays awhile and helps out a small settlement, only to be confronted by an enemy of his not-too-long-ago past. You only get glimpses and guesses at what happened in the final war, but this is a character study and you're left feeling alright not knowing everything that happened.

Poetic prose and with a lovely flow to it all. In the end, you're as close to the persona who is telling the story as to John. Everyone matures and changes and it's wonderful to read something that's fairly simple in plot (as in no technobabble or war strategy), but delves deep into the emotional senses.

The Light of a Fading Sun by friendshipper

This one hits you with a punch, even if you're not a McKay/Sheppard shipper. The boys' friendship is in a horrible mess, almost nonexistant at the start. Additionally, it's a totally different Atlantis than the one we've come to know and love where the military and scientists haven't gotten along since they reconnected with Earth. The Arcturus Project is a go, sanctioned by the military because McKay goes over Weir's head, further enhancing tensions. But despite this, there's quite a few surprises ahead for our team.

It's a bit of a dark fic, but nonetheless, it feels realistic. It's got action, bitterness, rivalries, politics, and great characterization. The author weaves a wonderful, intricate, and detail-oriented tale that takes you on an emotional roller coaster. And in the end, it's really all about friendship and the bumps it passes over.

It's a rather humorous look at the two teams getting together, courtesy of none other than the IOA. Neither team is happy about it. And yet, there's a whole lot of chemistry going on. Pretty hot!

A very funny remixed fic of the above pornlet featuring John Sheppard as "the new guy" at Starfleet Academy. Have you heard of anything as absurd as Kirk trying to outdo the master of cool? Kirk has to learn his lesson the hard when he tries to out seduce the next big space whore. I want this pairing like ALL THE TIME now.

And All the World Beneath by seperis SGA/Supernatural, John Sheppard/Dean Winchester, McShep

This fic is written by seperis so you already know it's going to be good but...WOW. I was blown away at how she meshed the mythologies of both shows so well, absolutely aced the characterization (especially John overall and Dean's protective aspects), made a creepy story, and satisfied absolutely everything you could want from a crossover between these two fandoms. (Just keep in mind this was written sometime around/after the Supernatural S2 finale.) This fic is absolutely amazing.
