Fringe Pilot

I had the chance to watch Fringe tonight when it reaired. Initial thoughts? The beginning was definitely gross. But not really more so than an episode of NCIS. And despite all my inclination to not like it...I kind of did.



I was actually impressed with Joshua Jackson. I've never liked him before. But in this one episode, I really thought he played the role well. He didn't really do all that much, but his simple presence and the way he barged into that interrogation room, and how easy the technobabble came out...yeah, I liked him.

The Anna chick was decent too. I was so irritated when the show was first being talked about and this girl was supposed to be about 25 but have done all this other stuff already. However, the character came off as much older, much more experienced. I don't know if it was a change from JJ Abrams or just the actress, but I liked it.

I also like that random FBI guy that I didn't catch his name; the cute one. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him.

I was perhaps most impressed with the production quality. I loved the effects, the way the director (Alex Graves of West Wing fame, thank you) set up the shots, the lighting, etc. Very well done.

I ended up liking the whole concept of the show. While I still think it's a rip off of The X-Files, I can't help but like that type of show. Weird science, conspiracies, bad people, ethics, it's all fascinating and exactly my type of show. Lets hope it stays this way...and that FOX doesn't cancel it after 10 eps if it does. *rollseyes*


PS: OMG did you guys see who is guest starring in ep 4 of this season's SPN??!?!

It has been hyped as and X Files/CSI type show. I liked it. I missed it the first go around thanks to Fox showing it out of it's time slot so I was happy to see them reshowing it. This weeks looks freaky as hell.

I like Joshua Jackson, matter of fact out of Dawsons he's the only one I did like and I couldn't stomach the show at all.

I like the actress she's tough but not overly I wear my balls on the outside kind of way if you know what I mean.

The main dude (can't remember his name course he always called her Liason so it seems fair)that she has issue with and he has them with her I like that. I mean I despise his take on the whole rape issue but the underlying I don't like you but I respect the work you did on this case thing I like that and I think in the long run it's going to be a strong bond built there.


The guy that played Walter, took me forever to figure out what I'd seen him in and then I realized it was LOTR, but he was awesome, you really wanted to dislike him and then found you really couldn't but this Bell dude yeah I think him I'm going to hate if we ever see him.

But I haven't watched Fringe yet. I'm downloading it right now. Er - what's gross about the beginning? Spoil me plz. :D

Ummm, dude gets sick on airplane, everyone gets sick on airplane. Imagine the bodies in Fight The Future (the translucent, jelly-like bodies after the aliens have started digesting them) and imagine that...but with more blood.

I LOVE IT WHEN OZ ACTORS SHOW UP IN OTHER SHOWS! That Fringe pilot actually had two. The other one was the douchebag in charge of the investigation. (He was "Desmond Mobay," an undercover narc cop who became a drug addict and murderer during his undercover stint in Oz. Lollllllll.)
