Don't forget to check out my Friends Cut post.

How amazing was last night's SPN finale? Just a few things I want to comment on...

*Jensen's Texan accent came out when he was talking to dead Sam. It was kind of cute.
*The minute they showed Crossroads in the little intro I knew exactly what was going to happen. I was disappointed in this chick, though. I know I'm like the only one who likes the original Crossroad demon, but she was just...cool. Though, the kiss was hot.
*I was actually proud of Sam for killing Jake. It sucks, yeah, but it needed to be done. I see angst though, because only Dean can kill without mercy. *rolls eyes*
*The whole return of the "what's dead should stay dead" line. *headdesk* I should have known we weren't passed that.
*I loved the whole mystery and finding out what the demon had been after. Fascinating to think of a giant Devil's Trap.
*While letting out the demons of hell was predictable (how many fics have written about the same thing?) it was still really cool to know and see.
*Crypt=Pandora's Box. John Winchester=Hope.
*I was so excited to see JDM in the beginning credits. I had no clue he was coming back but it was so good to see him back. Even if he had no lines. LOL But actually, that was very powerful.
*Jensen was just...♥ Dean was amazing this ep. In fact, I just loved the whole dynamic and how everything played out. And it was emotional without being emo.

Other things/observations:
Season 1 angst: I don't want to hunt!Sam, Don't leave me Sam!Dean
Season 2 angst: Dad's gone/I should be dead!Dean, Will I go darkside!Sam
Season 3 angst: Did all of Sam come back/is it really Sam!Dean, figuring out how to renege on Crossroads deal!Sam

Friday Five

1.) Now that we're out of fresh Supernatural episodes until September, how will you spend your Supernatural-less summer?

Working. Watching Battlestar Galactica, Kyle XY, Eureka. Getting my tan up to par again. Attempting to write.

2.) Who's your favourite Supernatural villain so far, and why?

Oh, YED. He always cracked me up and had such intensity. And the original shapeshifter.

3.) Based on what we know from season 2, how do you expect season 3 to play out?

Uhh, see under the spoiler cut.

4.) Jared's spending his summer filming 'The Christmas Cottage' and Jensen is doing a play called 'A Few Good Men'. What other sorts of roles would you like to see the boys portray?

Is it only me that think this question was created by someone completely ignorant of Aaron Sorkin and his godlike status? Anyway. I don't know really. I guess I'd like to see Jared do something really funny with like Ben Stiller or something. And I'd love Jensen as a romantic lead.

5.) If you could sit down and have lunch with one Supernatural side-character (anyone other than Sam or Dean), who would it be, and what would you talk about?

Bobby. He's just a wealth of information even if he is a hick.

Have I ever mentioned how much I fucking love David Hewlett? You all must see T H I S. DH FTW!! And Mars, too. And shameless self-pimping. LOL

I actually noticed the Texas accent coming out, too. GAH! This ep is definitely going to go down in canon history as the source of all things angsty. It's Dean more vulnerable than we've ever seen him, stripped down, no defenses left, nothing left, just raw anguish and guilt. And I LOVED the Bobby scenes. He's really stepping into the role of father figure and the chemistry between he and Dean is so strong. That little catch in Dean's voice when he said "Please don't tell him." It just killed me! And Bobby, so caring and gruff and ready to smack some sense into him, but so emotional at the same time. I really got a sense of how much he cares for the boys.

I had no idea people didn't like the first Crossroads Demon. I thought she was great! So that's why we got a new one. I guess we should call her the DILF? Eeeek. The kiss WAS hot though. Wow.

Sammy shooting Jake...I agree, it had to be done. But I really think there was something else going on there. The look on Sam's face, the way he shot him not just once but several times, it was overkill. It just didn't feel like Sam to me. I think maybe that was a subtle clue to something the YED also hammered home, which was, are you sure the Sam you got back is 100% Sam? How has this experience changed him? I wonder if we're in for a darker Sam in season 3.

Omg that last scene...god, the brotherlove was pulsing through my television. I don't mean Wincest love, I mean pure unbreakable I'd-die-for-you brotherlove. The way Sam was soft spoken with Dean, yet forceful, the way he angled his body toward him, so open, willing him to tell the truth, and Dean, so touched and so sadly taken aback by the idea of someone else, of Sam sacrificing for him. The idea just totally shocked him, you could tell. Protecting Sam has been his duty his entire life, and it was the first time he'd even considered things from Sam's POV, that Sam might feel the same way about him.

It'll be very interesting to see how this plays out. I think as the season rolls on and the "year" begins to get close to an end, the pressure's going to be intense, and it's going to be interesting to see how Dean manages not to violate the terms of the deal, so he'll still be trying to protect Sam with his last breath, even as Sam fights to save him from Hell. *shiver* Damn, I love this show.
