"When he returns for the two-parter, it will be Carson Beckett in the flesh," Mallozzi assured fans. "Late in Season Three, we discussed the manner in which the character had been written out and the possible ways in which he could be brought back. I threw out an idea that not only brought Carson back, but answered a very big question I had concerning a late-season arc.
"In order to lay the groundwork for his possible return, we threaded a subtle hint into one of the late Season Three episodes. So, if fans want to know how we plan on bringing the good doctor back from the dead, they should seek out the hidden clue when the back half of Season Three returns...
Hmmm, says Lucy. Well, to begin, I love Joe. He's a great guy. Second, seems to me they already had plans for Carson to come back so while the Save Carson guys were great, I really think Joe would have brought him back no matter what. But still, good job for getting on The Today Show.
But my main 'hm' revolves around him coming back in the flesh. At the moment, I can only think of one way that can happen as Atlantis doesn't have a sarcophagus. That would be ascension. And the Tao of Rodney was in the back half of S3. It could also explain the ending conversation of Sunday. Because while I assumed it was just Rodney imagining the convo, it would make it better (not so cheesy) if it actually was Beckett.
Then again, ascension seems rather obvious versus subtle. And I'm a little annoyed with ascended beings. Ideas?

I really, really don't want it to be Ascension that brings Beckett back. Although if any of the Atlantis crew could be close to it I'd pick him.
It's too convenient and trite. But in the end so long as we get him back (even for just 2 eps) I'm happy!
