Sam does a brilliant job at crafting a plot and making 3D characters that go beyond what we seen in the show. Here, Neal is the kind of complex and mentally bruised as we only get glimpses of, and the relationship that blossoms between the three of them is beautiful and human.

I love how this slowly builds a relationship in the romantic sense and trust-wise. Neal needs reasons and motivations to stay and to prove to Peter he is staying, and so he breaks all the con man rules.

The First Kiss (Goodbye) by lionessvalenti

Kate comes back (spoiler: she's not dead), and Neal has to make a choice. But what I like best is how the author writes the complications of polyamory. And the ending melts my heart.

This is mostly sex. But it's hot sex and the one-liners are just awesome.

Leaving Peter notes in hard-to-get places is so Neal and he's just ridiculously charming in this. This story is simple and sweet.

Shelter by hoosierbitch

A beautiful look at Neal post-Kate (season 1 finale) and how the three of them come together and take care of each other. I really love the emotions and how tactile everyone is.

I love this story for its slow burn, the measured negotiations, the NRE (new relationship energy), and its honesty. The frubble in this fic is immense. LOVE. Seriously.

In which Peter is a young agent and El becomes Neal's accomplice. The connection they forge with Peter through notes and origami is brilliantly sweet and so them.

Tight editing, excellent clip choices, and a fantastic eye for detail make Luckybiatch one of the best editors out there and in 'A Little Less Conversation' she delivers a solid hit. Billed as "...some of the awesome/fun scenes of White Collar edited to a catchy-ass song", this vid will have you grinning as you relive some of the best moments of the show.




Crossovers

Intelligent Designs by auburn (canon pairings for other fandoms)

This is a brilliantly crafted fic that combines multiple fandoms including Chuck and Fringe with a base in The X-Files (specifically, Eve, on of my fav MOTW). I will suggest if you've never seen Fringe, read a brief synopsis on Wikipedia to understand the timeline/multiple universe aspect, but other than that, no additional knowledge is necessary. She is a brilliant author (see all the Stargate: Atlantis recs of hers I've made) and this story is excellent. She combines the multiple casts in a way that keeps you interested and the plot moving while still exploring their natures and personas. The plot is complex and exciting and the characterizations are spot on. It's emotional and wonderful. One of my new favs!
