I saw Serenity before I watched Firefly. Or rather, I'd seen the one or two eps FOX had aired before they started fucking around with nights and then years later Serenity came out. Then I went back and watched the whole series and then Serenity again. So, for me at least, Serenity had things I got more once I watched Firefly, but for the plot and characters, I still got what it was about without seeing the show before. So I trust Joss.
Heh. I've been doing midnight showings in the last few years. I started with HP3, and continued with those, the first two Narnia flicks, Watchmen, Star Trek...it's old habit now if it's a movie I'm truly interested in. But, I haven't been this excited since Star Trek. Even that one I didn't count days down on! Yup. Obsessed. AND LOVING IT.
