Well, when I was more into comics, here is what I did:
A) !!!Wikipedia!!! B) Google (if I can't find enough info on Wikipedia, but usually I could) C) I seek out / absorb the comics+info I am interested in and ignore all those other characters/events/whatever I don't curr about.
