It's weird, because I don't think Cas *should* apologize. I felt the beating was entirely justifiable and Castiel stopped before he caused real damage. But it also seems like Cas *would* apologize. We know he sticks it out through thick and thin and he's proud and he's a BAMF, but at this point, I think he's a little more understanding of human feelings. And in a close moment, it seemed right.
