I didn't find out about the show until mid-second season. It sounded interesting so I rented the first season via Netflix. I was instantly hooked.
I loved Castiel from the get-go. And I enjoyed his interactions with Dean. But I didn't actively ship them until after the infamous "I did it, all of it, for you" quote. Then I fell hard and started looking for communities of like minded fans. So, yes, Castiel made me join fandom. Also, Misha Collins is just that handsome. Fits my type almost to a T. XD
Man, I wish I would have heard about Dean/Cas through my flist. I could have jumped on the bandwagon sooner.
