Royal Baby
Jul. 24th, 2013 04:03 pmI am fascinated by the juxtaposition on my tumblr feed regarding the royal baby. All the Brits are like "YAY BABY, DONT FUCK WITH THE ROYAL FAMILY" and the Americans/non-Brits/Jared Padalecki are all "WHO CARES ABOUT ANOTHER RICH WHITE BABY". Versus, some of the Americans I know in "real life" who get absurdly excited over the royal family. People are just so opinionated about a child that isn't theirs.
And I'm just like...meh, baby.
Like, I'm not going to belittle a country celebrating the birth of its next heir, rich and white or not (he's an heir - what royal baby isn't rich?). But also, it's just a baby; I can't get super excited for it. Congrats to them, and I hope he grows up to be handsome and kind and a good symbol of state power.
